Ethan | tulsa baby photographer

I was so excited to see Ethan again! We did his lifestyle newborn session and it was time for his 3 month session before I knew it!
Since babies are still pretty immobile at 3 months we kept it simple and took this cutie out to a field for his parents to love on him.
I LOVE watching my tiniest clients grow up <3

How sweet! You did an amazing job! I find 3 months to be the hardest to photograph… can’t wait to see his 6 month pictures! <3

save the date cards DIY wedding

I how our save the date cards turned out! I knew I wanted something organic and unique to reflect our DIY wedding style and this was perfect. Before you go and say how creative I am, I totally got this idea off of Pinterest! The link I originally saw was: ‘Tie the Knot’ Save the Date Cards
….and I just put my own spin on it!
But for visual purposes here are my steps!
(Make sure you also check out my DIY will you be my bridesmaid gifts I made my girls!)

I got a little carried away and cut all the paper before taking a picture….but you get the idea 😉

I adore this little knot concept. When you open the save the date card, the knot gets tied!
The raffia ribbon that was used in the original blog post I found was gorgeous but just not me. So I opted for grey+blush bakers twine instead! Our wedding colors will more than likely be a pale grey and blush pink.Unfortunately the post office wouldn’t let me mail these as-is. I found some small (3×5) kraft envelopes that I will mail them in and also bought organic floral stamps so the whole concept flows together.
**If you decide to make similar cards be sure to take one to your local post office and check how they need to be mailed. I almost wasted all my stamps putting them ON the cards but am glad I made a trip to the post office to check!**
{Yes, I still call my God Parents “John E Pooh” and “Leigh Z Pooh”. Don’t judge. 😉 }

These only took me about 3-4 hours to put together after I got them printed and cut the bakers twine.

I would love to see pictures of your save the date cards! Whether you make some like this or in your own unique way feel free to post a link to your projects as a comment to this post. DIY projects are my guilty pleasure!

I hope you enjoyed seeing these!

Hailee Davies - May 26, 2016 - 12:28 AM

Hello! I am super interested in making these save the dates for my wedding, I am curious as to how you went through the whole process of getting them printed?
Did you write out what you wanted and then they picked a font and printed for you?
Also what type of paper did you use?
You did an amazing job!

Thankyou for your time,

Heather - June 15, 2016 - 5:56 PM

Hello, I love these and going to try to make something similar. Do you have a template you used to create this? Would you be willing to share it with me?
Also what size paper did you use?

Farrah | Tulsa Maternity Photographer

Farrah and Damon are one of the most amazing couples I have ever known. They have been together since they were 14 and are so inspiring to be around. I am beyond blessed to have met so many amazing people through my relationship with David over the past 4+ years, but I am exceptionally grateful to have a couple that’s our age as a constant reminder of what real lasting love is.
They are pregnant with their rainbow baby, Ariana. Watching them go through this journey for the second time with such poise, grace, and strength just makes them that much more of an incredible couple to look up to.
This baby girl is already loved more than she could ever know and I cannot wait to get my hands on her for our newborn session!

Jordan | Tulsa Newborn Photographer

Sweet baby Jordan slept better than any newborn I have ever had! At a whopping 16 days young she completely broke my previous thought that “older” newborns would be more difficult. She was 100% tolerant of my over-the-top set up changes, too! Being the first newborn girl I have ever photographed I had a LOT of props to use. More than I like to admit 😉

What a beautiful baby! Great job Amy, I would die for images like this of my girls!

will you be my bridesmaid | DIY bridesmaid gifts | Tulsa Photographer

Nothing in my life is more important to me than my friendships. Nothing. I have been blessed with the most incredible and supportive people and now I get to marry my best friend. Someone pinch me! I wanted to ask my girls “will you be my bridesmaid” in a fun and creative way…enter Pinterest! I saw this blog post a few months ago and knew I wanted to do something similar, but with an “Amy twist” 🙂 I think these ” will you be my bridesmaid? ” bridesmaid boxes just might be my favorite part of the wedding!
(Make sure you check out my DIY save the date cards I made, too!)
Here is where I got the idea:
I am linking everything I am able to find online so make sure you check out the links!
The person who did the boxes I saw on Pinterest used a ruler to make sure her stamped words were lined up. I’m a color outside the lines kind of girl so I didn’t mess with that 😉
The boxes are from Michael’s {I could not find them online to link them!} and are roughly 5″x5″.
The lace and amazing key print burlap are from Joann‘s and were on sale!
I got the alphabet stamp set and mustache stamp from Hobby Lobby.
Inside jokes/nicknames stamped on the inside of each bridesmaid box lid!
LOVELOVELOVE these cards I found on Etsy from BashoreDesigns!  I placed these on top of the burlap inside the box so it was the first thing they saw when they opened it.
Once they opened the burlap this is what was inside for each of them!
Aren’t they cuuuuuute?!?? I couldn’t be happier with them!
Here are individual pictures of what’s inside and links to where I got them!
I got these adorable letters {their first name initials} at Hobby Lobby!
The rings are from and I guess they don’t offer these anymore. Click the link to see all of their rings!
These gorgeous earrings are from A Pretty Shoppe! I love following their Facebook page and seeing what they will be offering next. They also have flash sales and discounts posted on there!
These soaps were made by Dallas Soap Company are to. die. for.
I considered keeping all of them! Their Facebook page has up to date pictures on what they are offering and they are always posting the most interesting links!
I got the mini bottles of prosecco at a local liquor store and the ring pops from Wal Mart 🙂

I hope you enjoyed looking at this DIY project as much as I loved doing it! My girls were beyond excited when I gave them these bridesmaid gifts! They all said it was much better than just asking, “Will you be my bridesmaid”?
If you make your own bridesmaid boxes I would love for you to post a link on here so I can see!! I love seeing other people’s creativity!

Now to start our DIY Save the Date cards and get those blogged in the next few weeks!

Michelle - August 22, 2012 - 12:36 PM

How adorable! I saw similar ideas when asking my girls but since no one lived near me I mailed them cards. I’m sure your girls loved them. Have fun planning your wedding and enjoy every minute (I’m so bummed mine is over!)

Jessica - August 22, 2012 - 7:18 PM

These are by far the cutest little boxes I’ve ever seen. The only problem is there needs to be a 5th one with a “J” 🙂

Love ya!

Jennifer Henderson - August 22, 2012 - 7:41 PM

I love these! I can’t wait to see how the whole wedding unfolds, as I’m sure it will be MAGICAL!!

Such a great idea! I may steal it but use it as a thank you gift for my bridesmaids =) – seeing as I’ve already asked/told them they are going to be my bridesmaids haha
